The Stryker Stretcher Strap Kit Modified Mercy Health Intensive Care Unit is a restraint made for its purpose.
Designed in conjunction with the team at Mercy Health Hospital and is a modified version of the original Stryker Strap Kit.
This kit has the same benefits as the original Stryker but is designed to fit beds in the Intensive Care Unit with some beneficial changes to suit their needs.
The tether straps were modified to use the Cam Buckle tether straps that ensure swift application to anchor points and adjusting and just as efficient when releasing.
Two lateral straps instead of a single lateral strap was added to enable treatment of clients in the left or right lateral position.
The single wrist cuff anchor attaches midway down the bed while the ankle cuff anchor is placed at the foot of the bed.
The tether straps are put into place on anchor points and easily adjusted by threading the strap through a Cam buckle. This aides in a quick securing and releasing restraint.
Wrist cuffs are placed around the wrist and secured with strong hook and loop Velcro. Once on a smaller strap is threaded around the cuff and threaded through two “D” rings for extra securing.
Once the client is placed on the bed cuffs are attached to the wrist cuff anchor and the feet can be secured in the ankle cuff. This helps in a situation where a client is likely to harm themselves or others around them.
