Seatbelt Extensions

HEMCO Industries manufactures and supplies seatbelt extensions designed to improve accessibility and convenience while maintaining the correct engagement with your vehicle’s existing seat belt buckle.

Our extensions are available in two common configurations to suit a wide range of Australian and imported vehicles.

Type A Seatbelt Extensions

Type A Seatbelt Extensions are suitable for most Australian-built vehicles manufactured from approximately 1996 onwards.

Type B Seatbelt Extensions

Type B Seatbelt Extensions are designed to suit many imported vehicles, particularly those manufactured in Asia. We are continually expanding our compatibility guide as additional vehicle applications are confirmed.

If your vehicle is not listed, the tongue dimensions provided on each product page can help determine compatibility.

Checking Compatibility

Before ordering, please measure your existing seatbelt tongue and compare it with the HEMCO tongue dimension diagrams shown on the Type A and Type B extension pages.

A close dimensional match is generally required for the extension to engage correctly with your vehicle’s buckle.

Important Information

For safety reasons, HEMCO cannot manufacture custom seatbelt extensions for vehicles outside our tested range. All seatbelt extensions must be manufactured, tested, and supplied using approved components, and custom-made extensions cannot be provided due to safety certification requirements and the availability of compatible components.
