The Melbourne Health Restraint Sets have been specifically developed to meet the unique requirements of intensive care and acute healthcare environments. Designed in consultation with clinical staff, this modified restraint system provides a safe, secure, and efficient patient management solution for situations where a patient may be highly agitated and pose a risk to themselves, healthcare staff, or others.
The primary purpose of the system is to enable the safe delivery of essential medical treatment while maintaining patient and caregiver safety. Combining patient comfort with reliable restraint functionality, the Melbourne Health Restraint Sets have been tailored to suit the demanding conditions of intensive care units, emergency departments, and critical care settings.
The kits features soft neoprene and Lycra wrist cuffs, providing a comfortable yet durable restraint option suitable for prolonged clinical use. Each wrist cuff is secured around the patient using 50mm hook and loop Velcro, ensuring a strong and adjustable fit.
The integrated Cam Buckle wrist tether system allows for rapid attachment to anchor points on beds, trolleys, and stretchers. This innovative design significantly improves application efficiency while also allowing quick release when required by authorized personnel. For additional security, the tether system incorporates tamper-resistant protector buckles, which can only be released using the supplied Mechanical Key.
To further enhance patient management, the set includes a Leg Immobilizer System that attaches securely to a bed, trolley, or stretcher using heavy-duty webbing and dual metal D-rings. Once positioned, the ankle cuffs are wrapped comfortably around the patient’s ankles and secured with hook and loop Velcro. The tether straps are then threaded through the D-rings to provide a strong and reliable restraint connection that helps minimize excessive leg movement.
The wrist cuff tether straps are designed with an additional security layer, threading through dual D-rings and securing with 20mm hook and loop Velcro before being tensioned using the Cam Buckle system. This provides an exceptionally secure fit while maintaining ease of adjustment.
The complete kit is supplied in a highly visible yellow denier drawstring storage bag, ensuring all components are protected, organized, and readily available when required. A Mechanical Release Key is attached to the bag for convenient access during emergencies.
